The Backend Engineer at 2Brains should
Focus on designing, building, and scaling robust APIs and data-driven services, ensuring reliable and scalable business logic. Their purpose is to develop secure, resilient, and data-oriented backend solutions capable of supporting growing digital products.
This role will have a strong focus on database engineering, optimizing performance in SQL and NoSQL environments, managing migrations, and ensuring data integrity. Additionally, they will design self-healing services capable of automatically detecting and recovering from failures, ensuring operational resilience at scale.
What challenges will the Backend Engineer face?
- Design, develop, and maintain applications and services applying good software engineering practices.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Business Experts, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to deliver value iteratively.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, following quality and architectural standards.
- Design and implement unit, integration, and contract tests to ensure software reliability.
- Work alongside infrastructure and delivery teams to ensure efficient CI/CD pipelines and secure deployments.
- Deploy solutions in cloud environments considering scalability, security, and resilience.
- Monitor production performance using metrics and alerts, anticipating and resolving incidents.
- Document technical solutions and share knowledge to strengthen team maturity.
What knowledge are we looking for in the Backend Engineer?
- Experience in developing secure REST APIs, applying good API Security practices and secure data transfer.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building robust and scalable backend services.
- Experience in SQL databases, including efficient modeling and queries.
- Application of Design Patterns and SOLID principles for designing maintainable and scalable software.
- Experience with version control using Git in collaborative development environments.
- Experience in automated testing to ensure software quality and stability.
- Knowledge and application of secure data handling throughout the development lifecycle.
