About the Role

J.P. Morgan is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer with a focus on Java Backend to join our global team. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the design and development of innovative software solutions, working with cutting-edge technologies and receiving limited guidance to foster autonomy and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and optimize backend applications using Java.
• Lead the architecture and design of new features and systems.
• Collaborate on building and operating feature stores, ensuring their efficiency and scalability.
• Manage and optimize the performance of technologies such as Apache Flink.
• Implement data governance practices and feature registries.
• Mentor and guide other engineers on the team.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Actively participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from conception to implementation and maintenance.

Requirements

• Solid and demonstrable experience in backend development with Java.
• Proven experience in technical or team leadership roles.
• Knowledge and experience in building or operating feature stores.
• Familiarity with data streaming processing technologies such as Apache Flink.
• Understanding of data governance principles and registry management.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools.
